Allianz Life carrier profile.
The largest fixed indexed annuity writer in the US market, and one of the few carriers that sells only FIAs and RILAs. Here is what the ratings say, what the lineup looks like, and where the trade-offs sit.
The issuer behind the guarantee.
An annuity guarantee is a promise from one company, sometimes lasting forty years. The product matters less than the balance sheet standing behind it.

Our Allianz reviews.
Three things to understand about Allianz.
Allianz does not sell a plain fixed annuity
The lineup is fixed indexed and registered index linked only. If you are shopping for a MYGA or a simple declared-rate contract, Allianz is not a carrier you will find one at, and any comparison that puts them side by side is comparing different products.
The bonus is not free money
Allianz's best-known contracts pair a premium bonus with a separate income value that is only accessible as lifetime income over a set payout period. The bonus is real, but it is credited to a value you cannot walk away with in a lump sum. Our 222 review works through the mechanics.
Caps and participation rates are the carrier's to change
On a fixed indexed annuity, the renewal cap is declared by the carrier, subject to a contractual minimum. A first-year cap is not a promise about year seven. Ask for the guaranteed minimum, not the current rate.
How to read any carrier.
Palm Wealth Capital publishes independent annuity research and education. No carrier pays for placement on this site. Nothing here is individualized investment, tax, or legal advice.
Holding an Allianz Life contract — or being shown one?
Send the illustration or statement. We will check Allianz Life’s current AM Best rating and outlook against the date on this page, read the surrender schedule and any market value adjustment, price the riders, and tell you what the guaranteed terms are rather than the illustrated ones. If the answer is that you don’t need it, that is the answer you get — there is nothing here for us to sell you.
Carriers buyers weigh against this one.
