Our Process

How it works.

A clear, four-step path from “I’m curious about annuities” to “I know which one fits my retirement.”

01

Review

We start by understanding your retirement goals, timeline, and what you already have in place.

02

Calculate

We run the numbers across hundreds of annuity products to see what each carrier would actually offer you.

03

Recommend

You see the top three options side-by-side, with the trade-offs and fine print explained in plain English.

04

Retire

You move forward with confidence, knowing exactly why your strategy was chosen.

How We Are Different

No brochures. No pressure. Just clarity.

We focus relentlessly on three things, and we leave the fancy charts, jargon, and steak dinners to everyone else.

THOUSANDS OF PRODUCTS THE SHORTLIST
01 · The Top-Tier Shortlist

Only the annuities worth your time.

There are thousands of annuity products on the market. Most are mediocre, expensive, or built to pay commissions instead of deliver outcomes. We focus on the small subset of products from financially strong carriers that actually perform.

02 · Honest Guidance

We tell you when an annuity is the wrong answer.

Sometimes the best advice is “don’t buy this.” We explain fees, surrender periods, and trade-offs upfront, and if your situation doesn’t call for an annuity, we’ll say so. That’s the entire point of independent guidance.

03 · Personalized Strategy

There is no one-size-fits-all annuity.

The right product depends on your age, your other retirement assets, your income needs, and how much market risk you can stomach. Every recommendation is built around those specifics, not a sales target.

What A Review Looks Like

No testimonials. Just the process.

We would rather show you exactly what happens on a call than print a quote you have no way to verify.

Step 01

You send the contract

The illustration, the statement, or the proposal you were handed. Nothing else — no account balances, no Social Security number, no application.

15–20 minutesYour time
Step 02

We read it against the carrier

Current AM Best rating and outlook, surrender schedule, any market value adjustment, the guaranteed rather than illustrated crediting terms, and what the rider actually costs each year.

Same weekTurnaround
Step 03

You get a plain answer

What the contract does well, what it costs, what would have to be true for it to be right for you — and, often enough, that you do not need it. There is nothing for us to sell you at the end.

Your Questions Answered

Frequently asked questions.

Annuities are financial products offered by insurance companies that convert your retirement savings into a guaranteed income stream. Depending on the type, fixed, variable, fixed indexed, or deferred income, you can receive guaranteed lifetime income, tax-deferred growth, and protection from market declines. They’re typically used to ensure you have enough predictable income to cover expenses throughout retirement.
Fixed annuities provide a guaranteed rate of return and predictable payments. Variable annuities are tied to market performance, so your account value fluctuates and you can lose money. Fixed indexed annuities sit in between. Your principal is protected, but growth is linked to a market index with a cap.
Annuities grow tax-deferred. You don’t pay taxes on earnings until you withdraw them. Withdrawals are taxed as ordinary income, not capital gains. Early withdrawals before age 59½ may incur surrender charges and a 10% IRS penalty. Always consult a tax professional for advice specific to your situation.
Start with the financial strength of the issuing carrier (A.M. Best, S&P, Moody’s ratings), then look at fees, surrender period, any caps or participation rates on growth, and the specific riders (income, death benefit, long-term care). Independent reviews matter more than the carrier’s marketing brochure.
Most annuities include a death benefit that passes the remaining contract value or specified amount to your beneficiaries. Some contracts let you elect joint or survivor income that continues to a spouse. The specifics vary by contract, so it’s worth reviewing them carefully alongside the rest of your estate plan.

Take control of your financial future.

A 15-minute conversation is enough to know whether an annuity belongs in your retirement plan. No pressure, no jargon.
